Introducing
Origins

The beginning of something special

Welcome to Glenberley

Glenberley is a boutique vineyard nestled in the heart of North Canterbury, driven by our love of the land, its history, and a commitment to crafting exceptional wines.

We’re making out mark with our Origins Collection – our inaugural vintage that, like us, is genuine and unpretentious. Being a small-scale producer keeps us grounded – we let our wines speak for themselves.

Origins Collection

Every great wine starts with a single vintage. For Glenberley, that moment is now.

Our Origins Collection marks the start of our winemaking journey on this historic North Canterbury land.

Three wines –Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, and Pinot Gris – are currently resting in bottle, quietly developing the character that will define them. By mid-2026, they’ll be joined by Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, completing our inaugural collection.

Follow along as we share the progress, the seasons, and the moments that matter.

Riesling 2025

We’re delighted to introduce you the newest addition to our Origins Collection.

Our Riesling captures everything we love about this region – precision, elegance, and character shaped by ancient soils. Currently in bottle, finding its voice. Available from mid-2026.

Sauvignon Blanc 2025

Meet our first born – harvested from organically farmed North Canterbury vines, our Sauvignon Blanc marks the beginning of our Origins Collection journey. Now resting in bottle, developing quietly, waiting for mid-2026.

Pinot Gris 2025

There’s something special about Pinot Gris grown on North Canterbury’s limestone soils. Our region has built a deserved reputation, and we’re honoured to be part of continuing it.

A land coming back to life

This isn’t just about making wine. It’s about regenerating premium North Canterbury land and bringing it back to the thriving, productive place it once was in its 1800s heyday as Glenmark Station.

Every vine we plant, every sustainable practice we implement, is part of a bigger story – one of restoration, community, and creating something that builds on our region’s incredible reputation.

What makes North Canterbury special

It starts beneath our feet. Our vineyard sits on ancient limestone and clay soils that give our wines their distinctive mineral backbone. The region’s limestone-rich terrain creates natural water stress for vines, forcing roots to dig deeper and ultimately producing more complex flavours.

Our vineyards are sheltered from excessive rainfall by the Southern Alps. When it’s pouring on the West Coast, our North Canterbury vines enjoy dry conditions perfect for consistent ripening.

As our young vines develop in this special place, we’re fascinated watching them adapt to their environment – each growing season bringing us closer to expressing this unique terroir in our wines.

Introducing Glenberley

From defining the brand and shaping the vision, to preparing the land, planting the vines, and building the spaces that will bring it all together.

What you’ll soon see is the result of careful planning, years of hands-on work, and collaboration with people who share our belief in this place and its potential.

For now, we invite you to take a look behind the scenes at the process that’s shaping Glenberley from the ground up.
